Libéma Open honours champions on Sunday

16/06/18, 23:21

Libéma Open will add two new winners to the list of honour on Sunday. Kirsten Flipkens was losing finalist in 2013 in Rosmalen. For Aleksandra Krunic, Richard Gasquet and Jeremy Chardy it will be the first time.

Flipkens and Krunic will start at noon. Bertens has had quite some tough three setters and played in the doubles final. Krunic had some convincing win this week and only lost one set in the semi-final to two-time tournament winner CoCo Vandeweghe. The 25-year-old Serbian could experience the best moment of her career on Sunday as she has never won a WTA tournament. Flipkens won one title, in 2012 in Quebec, Canada. The Belgian likes to play on grass and reached the semi-final in Wimbledon in 2013.

Gasquet and Chardy will not enter centre court before 2.30 pm. A match between two thirty plus friends who know each other since they started to play tennis. Chardy won only one ATP title, in 2009, but won a Challenger tournament in England last week. Gasquet, the former world’s number seven, has no less than 14 ATP titles. In addition he played two semi-finals at Wimbledon.
