Elise Mertens will make her appearance at Libéma Open immediately after Roland Garros. The top Belgian player in both singles and doubles has confirmed her arrival at the international grass tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
The 29-year-old Mertens has appeared six times before at the only WTA tournament in the Netherlands. The quarter-final in 2016 was the best singles result for the Leuven-born player. In the doubles, Mertens grabbed the title together with Demi Schuurs in 2018.
In the singles, Mertens has been among the top 30 in the world for years and was once on the edge of the top 10 with place 12. In doubles, she was even the global number one.
This year, she won the title at the WTA 250 tournament in Singapore. In total, Mertens has nine singles titles and no fewer than 21 doubles titles on her record.
More players will be announced in the coming period.
